Formed in April 2007, the Pi Kappa Phi chapter found its way to the campus of Western Michigan University. Since its chartering in April 2008, a year after colonization, around forty men have been immersed in the challenge of building a distinguished fraternal organization that is composed of men that deem themselves Leaders by Choice. For more than 100 years, Pi Kappa Phi has been in the business of building better men on college campuses. In the core of each brother, the fraternity has instilled fundamental tenets of Character, Leadership, Academics, Sportsmanship, and Service.
From humble roots at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, the national fraternity now extends to over 130 campuses and over 98,000 initiated brothers. Additionally, the fraternity is the only in the nation to establish and maintain its own philanthropy: Push America which helps bring about empathy, understanding, and accessibility issues for people with disabilities that plague college campuses around the country.
The Theta Rho chapter of Pi Kappa Phi has contained some of the most prominent male leaders on campus including a former WSA President and Speaker of the House. Also, the chapter has maintained one of the top three highest GPA’s every semester since its founding.
To encourage our new member’s adaptation to the college ‘scene,’ we provide guidance on all issues that a new student may need; academic, social, and all things in between. We offer study hours, member education meetings, as well as information on campus resources.
Pi Kappa Phi was founded on the
principles of “nu phi,” meaning “non-fraternity.
We pride ourselves on being a social fraternal
organization unlike any other. We are not
followers; we are men that blaze a trail where
others will follow. Our mission is simple: We
will lead. We hope you consider joining us
on this journey!
